Women's Golf Tied for 24th at Kiawah Island Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The Lipscomb women's golf team ended its opening round tied for 24th at the Kiawah Island Classic in Kiawah Island, South Carolina.

The Bisons found themselves in the middle of the pack after day one of the tournament, which consists of 49 teams in the field. Lipscomb was able to end the first round with a score of 306. Coastal Carolina currently sits at the top of the leaderbord at 286.

Rachael McMahan is the leader for the Bisons after posting a first round 73. She is currently in a tie for 36th on the leaderboard. McMahan also tied for the best average score on par-3's with a mark of 2.75 on the first day of competition.

Round two will see the Purple and Gold tee off at 8:30 a.m. (EST) tomorrow. Lipscomb will have a chance to compete for the tournament championship if it places in the top-24 after tomorrow's round. If the Bisons fall out of the top-24 they will compete for a flight championship on Tuesday.
