ARDEN, N.C. - The Lipscomb women's golf team wrapped up play at the French Broad Collegiate Invitational with a final-round score of 319 to put them in 10th place.
The Bisons recorded back-to-back scores of 319 in the two-round tournament for a total of 638. Appalachian State won the tournament title at 611.
Freshman Sarah Hinton (77-74=151) had the best finish of her spring season and paced the Bisons on the leaderboard with a tie for ninth place. This is the second top-10 finish in Hinton's career and her final-round 74 was the best round of the day for Lipscomb.
Hinton also tied for the most birdies in the tournament field with six and claimed the first top-10 indivdual finish for the Bisons this spring season.
Junior Rachael MacMahan recorded her second top-25 finish in a row placing in a tie for 21st. McMahan posted a final-round 78 for a two-day total of 157 (79-78=157).
Emma Wasson posted consective rounds of 82 to tie for 37th at 164, while Lauryn Davidson (81-85=166) and Emily Keeling (83-88=171) rounded out the Bisons lineup in ties for 42nd and 54th.
"We definitely did not play our best this week," head coach Jesse Lawley said. "However, I do feel like the girls really fought hard to continually be positive and trying to improve. You can learn a lesson at every tournament and gain more experience."
The Purple and Gold will return to action for its last regular season event of the season at the Jan Weaver Invitational April 5-6 in Murray, Kentucky.
