McMahan Named ASUN Women's Golfer Of The Week

ATLANTA, Ga. - Senior Rachael McMahan finished in third at the Butler Fall Invitational this week and was tabbed as the ASUN Women's Golfer of the Week, announced by the league offices on Thursday.

McMahan led the Bisons with the best outing in her Lipscomb career to a team title by firing rounds of 76-74-74 for a 224 total. Lipscomb's tournament win was its second of the season, as they took home the title at the MSU Greenbrier Invitational last month.

The Knoxville, Tenn. native was apart of a lineup that also set a school-record for the lowest 18-hole team score after carding a 293 in the second round.

McMahan's third-place finish marked her best finish on the season and her first top-5 finish wearing the Purple and Gold.

This is the first ASUN weekly honor in McMahan's career and the second time this season a member of the women's golf team was named the ASUN Golfer of the Week (Emily Keeling, Sept. 19).

The Lipscomb women's golf team will be back in action Oct. 14-15 at the Lady Red Wolves in Jonesboro, Ark.
