Women's Golf Atop Leaderboard Through First Day At Town And Country Invitational

NASHVILLE - The Lipscomb women's golf team took to the links for the first day of play at the Town and Country Invitational and is in first place at 285.

The Bisons are just one stroke ahead of Troy (286) after 18-holes.

A trio of Bisons in sophomore Emily Keeling, senior Rachael McMahan and freshman Mary Kate Smith led the way on Monday from McCabe Golf Course. All three golfers shot an opening round of 1-over, 71 and are tied in sixth place in the medalist race.

Freshman Izzy Cantwell also had a solid outing and is tied for ninth after carding a 2-over, 72. Sarah Hinton rounds out the starting lineup for the Purple and Gold and is tied in 14th at 3-over, 73.

Lipscomb will look to maintain its lead and take home its third title of the fall season in the final round tomorrow.
