After kicking off Atlantic Sun play with a thrilling 1-0 double overtime win over Kennesaw State last weekend, the Lipscomb women’s soccer team will be bringing the A-Sun action to Nashville with its first home conference matchup of the season.

The Lipscomb (6-2-4) women’s soccer team kicked off Atlantic Sun Conference play with a tightly-contested 1-0 win over Kennesaw State (3-7-1) on Saturday night. In the 110th and final minute of action, Natalie DuBoise slotted in the game-winner off of an assist from Paige Miller.

After successfully finishing the nonconference portion of its schedule with a conference-best 5-2-4 record, the Lipscomb women’s soccer team begin Atlantic Sun action against Kennesaw State Saturday night at 6 p.m.

The Lipscomb women’s soccer team were one of five female programs honored on Wednesday afternoon for its academic success in the 2014-15 season by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The Lady Bisons had the highest team GPA among the A-Sun teams with a mark of 3.69.

After a stellar performance at the Lipscomb Nike Invitational over the weekend, freshman Maycie McKay has earned her first career Atlantic Sun Player of the Week award. McKay notched a goal and an assist over the two games.

Lipscomb (5-2-4) women’s soccer ended the Nike Invitational undefeated after a tense 1-1 draw with Western Carolina (4-3-2) on Saturday night. Freshman Maycie McKay slotted in a goal sent from sophomore Paige Miller in the 30th minute to give the Lady Bisons an early momentum boost.

Women’s soccer has a busy weekend on the horizon as the Lady Bisons host the Lipscomb Soccer Invitational with four games taking place on Thursday and Saturday. Lipscomb first’s game of the weekend against Akron is set for 7 p.m.

A banged-up Lipscomb women’s soccer squad lost to Mississippi State on Sunday at home 2-0. The Bulldogs notched two goals in the first half, and held on to the lead throughout the remainder of the game.
