For the second time this season and the third time in her career, junior goalkeeper Anna Buhigas was named the Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week after posting two shutouts over the weekend against a pair of conference opponents.
The Lipscomb women’s soccer team pitched its 10th shutout of the season Sunday with a 2-0 victory over North Florida in Atlantic Sun Conference play at Hodges Stadium. The win improves Lipscomb to 9-2-4 overall and 4-0 in the A-Sun, while UNF falls to 4-9 and 2-2.
Late in the second half of Friday night’s 1-0 victory for the Lipscomb (8-2-4, 3-0) women’s soccer team over Jacksonville University (2-7-2, 0-2-1), freshman Maycie McKay scored a game-winner with 22 minutes to play.
The Lipscomb women’s soccer team heads to Jacksonville, Florida with the Atlantic Sun’s best record (7-2-4) in tow and matches with two conference rivals set for the weekend. he Lady Bisons will be taking on Jacksonville on Friday and North Florida on Sunday.
For the first time in program history, the Lipscomb (7-2-4) women’s soccer team has started off Atlantic Sun Conference season with two consecutive victories after Saturday night’s 2-1 victory over the USC Upstate Spartans (2-8-1).
