NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb’s women’s soccer team will look to get back on the winning track as it travels to Central Arkansas this Friday, for a 4 p.m. matchup in Conway, Ark.
The Lady Bisons opened the season with a 2-0 victory over Jackson State getting a first half goal from sophomore Baylee Linnell and a second half goal from freshman Molly Bray. The shutout for Erin Zerio is her sixth career shutout.
On Monday, the Lady Bisons fell 2-1 to Xavier, when the Musketeers found the back of the net in the 83rd minute of play. Alex Hickey scored off a free kick in the 30th minute, for her first collegiate goal.
Central Arkansas was picked to finish eighth in the Southland Conference returning 22 players to a team that went 5-11-2 last season. Currently, the Bears are 2-0 with a 10-0 victory over Alcorn State and a 2-1 victory over ULM. Junior forward Adriana Lucar and freshman forward Marisela Chavez each have three goals for the Bears while junior midfielder Kristin Pollard has two goals and three assists.
The Lady Bisons are 2-4 all-time against the Bears with the last win coming two seasons ago in a 1-0 triumph. Last season, LU lost 1-0.
Following the contest with Central Arkansas, Lipscomb will stay on the road as they travel to Austin Peay on Tuesday, Aug. 28 for a 7 p.m. match in Clarksville, Tenn.
