NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Playing its second game of a five-game homestand, the Lipscomb women’s soccer team hosts Alabama State at 7 p.m. Friday night.

The Lady Bisons, 1-2-1 on the season, looks to rebound after falling 2-0 to UT-Martin Monday night. Alabama State is 3-1-0 and riding a three-game win streak having beaten Chattanooga 3-2 on Sunday.

Freshman Ellen Lundy, who picked up the College Sports Madness A-Sun Player of the Week, leads the Lady Bisons with three goals. Junior Baylee Linnell is second on the team with two goals but leads the team with nine shots.

Anna Buhigas, who won the Atlantic Sun Conference Defender of the Week honors, has two shutouts to her credit this season. The freshman leads the league in three categories, save percentage at .857, total saves with 24 and saves per game with six.

The Hornets have four players with two goals, led by Aaliyah Lewis who has added three assists to her two goals. She leads the squad with 14 shots, having landed nine on frame. Goalkeeper Kylee Hathaway has 35 saves and one shutout to her credit.

LU and ASU have met just once in the NCAA era, with the Hornets taking a 1-0 victory last season.

Following Friday’s contest, the Lady Bisons host Austin Peay State on Monday at 7 p.m.
