The Lady Bisons soccer team put in another solid defensive effort, but fell 1-0 to North Florida Thursday night in an Atlantic Sun match at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
Lena Mullaney scored an unassisted goal at the 12:33 mark of the first half for the only goal of the game.
North Florida fired 31 shots, including 25 shots on goal, at Lipscomb goalkeeper Katie Shelton. She made 24 saves. That was one short of the 25 she made against Valparaiso Sept. 10, the most saves made by a NCAA Division I goalkeeper in one game this season.
Shelton is second overall in school history in saves with 156 in 13 games. Jennifer Brittingham made 176 saves during the 2002 season.
Shelton is the NCAA Division I leader in saves with an average of 12 per game.
Junior defender Jen Murray made her first appearance in two seasons for the Lady Bisons
The Lady Bisons 1-14, 0-6, play their last home game of the season Saturday at 1 p.m. against Jacksonville. It will be Senior Day as Jessica Jordan, Laurie Babcock and Melissa Chambers will be honored.
North Florida is 10-3, 4-2 in the conference.
