Lady Bisons rally falls short in final minutes

Final Stats

With 2:10 left to play the Lipscomb Lady Bisons pulled within one goal of Jacksonville, but could not tie the game in a 3-2 loss in Altantic Sun action Sunday afternoon.

Jacksonville scored its first goal on a penalty kick at 22:15 of the first half as Keri Zwikker scored her first of two goals.

Brandi Besheres tied the game at 1-1 for the Lady Bisons when she scored on a header off of a free kick by Sarah Brummett at 33:42.

Jacksonville took a 2-1 lead at 35:06 and Zwikker struck again at 40:36.

Emma Scanlon gave the Lady Bisons hope near the end of the game as ball went off of her foot and into the goal. Scanlon led the Lady Bisons with two shots on goal.

Lady Bisons goaltender Katie Shelton made eight saves.

Jacksonville held a 19-12 advantage in shots and an 11-6 edge in shots on goal.

The Lady Bisons slipped to 3-12-1. Jacksonville is 7-10-1.
