Friday, October 09, 2009The Lady Bisons will have to work hard to wipe Georgia off of their minds.
Friday night at Kennesaw State the Lady Bisons lost 7-0 in an Atlantic Sun game. It was the most goals scored against the Lady Bisons since they lost 5-0 at Kennesaw State during the 2007 season.
Offensively, the Lady Bisons were only able to manage three shots with Katie Wood, Kate Spellman and Andie Thornton each making one attempt.
Kennesaw State was credited with 26 shots.
Caitlin Dingle scored twice for Kennesaw State in the first 4:30 minutes. Kristin Marietta also scored twice in the first half as Kennesaw State took a 5-0 lead.
Kennesaw State added two more in the second half with Brittany Vining, who assisted on two first half goals, finding the net for herself.
With 31 second left jade Dempster, who also assisted on a first half goal, closed out the scoring for Kennesaw State.
Ally Marler started in goal for the Lady Bisons. She gave up five goals and also made five saves.
Erin Zerio made six stops for the Lady Bisons in the second half, but she allowed two goals.
The Lady Bisons fell to 3-10-0, 1-4-0 in the conference. Kennesaw State is 6-5-0, 4-2-0 in the A-Sun.
Sunday afternoon at 1 the Lady Bisons will play Mercer in Macon, Ga.
