Last second goal lifts Jacksonville over Lady Bisons
After tying a program record at four for season wins Friday night with a 1-0 decision against North Florida, the Lady Bisons were looking for a record-breaking day in their last conference game of the season at Jacksonville University.
Unfortunately for Lipscomb, this record is one that will have to wait.
After two full halves, one overtime period of ten minutes, and 9 minutes and thirty-three seconds of the second overtime period, the Lady Bisons’ long fight ended when Jacksonville put the winning goal in the net.
With the 1-0 loss today, the Lady Bisons fall to 4-14 overall and 2-8 in the conference. Jacksonville, who has clinched the No. 4 seed for the tournament, is now 9-6-4 overall and 6-1-4 in the A-Sun.
So now, with hope of a possibility to go to the tournament gone, the Lady Bisons have one thing on their mind: getting that fifth season win.
The Lady Bisons have one chance left to break the program win record when they take on Tennessee Tech at 7 p.m. at home in their last match of the season.
