Women's Soccer Preseason Look: Forwards
Two seniors will be counted on to provide scoring punch and veteran leadership among a young group of forwards for the Lipscomb Lady Bisons in 2011. After a dearth of goals in 2010 a host of Lady Bisons, especially the forwards, will be relied on to find the back of the net early and often this season.

Senior Meghan McGuire is the current leading scorer that returns to the pitch for Lipscomb this season; the Roseville, Minn., native has three goals and three assists in three seasons for the Lady Bisons.

Tullahoma, Tenn., native Kirsten Heikkinen will roam all over the pitch in 2011, spending much time at forward but also seeing action at defender and in the midfield. She played 1,460 minutes in 2010, second only to Katie Wood and Kelsey Reiman among Lipscomb returnees.

Sophomore Jenna Price will see time at midfield and forward this season. She assisted on one goal in 2010 and will try for her first career collegiate goal this season.

Freshman Baylee Linnell was a high school teammate of fellow Lady Bison freshman Haley Wright at Oakland High School. The duo teamed to lead Oakland to the 2010 Regional championship.

Brentwood’s Karli Crosby joins the squad for the 2011 campaign after being named all-state in 2010 and all-region from 2008-10 for the Bruins. Wood, juniors Kameron Stilwell and Andie Thornton will also provide depth at forward, as well as multiple other spots around the pitch.

Check back all week for more videos and previews of the upcoming season for the Lady Bisons, who kick the regular season off Friday, Aug. 19, against Arkansas State.
