NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Due to the lighting upgrade project at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex, Friday afternoon’s doubleheader that includes the men’s season-opener will be moved to the Lipscomb training facility behind Cofer’s Chapel Church at the corner of Caldwell Lane and Franklin Pike.
The afternoon begins at 3 p.m. with the men’s season kicking off against Georgia State. Coach Charles Morrow’s squad looks to improve on last season’s 10-9 record and Atlantic Sun semifinals appearance.
The Bisons played UAB to a 2-2 draw Saturday night in an exhibition match in Birmingham.
Following that match, the women’s third home match of 2011 will kick off against Nicholls State. Last weekend, the Lady Bisons played to a 1-1 tie against Arkansas State in the season-opener and dropped a 1-0 match to Central Arkansas; both matches were played at Cofer’s Chapel.
Due to a lack of internet at the practice facility, there will be no live stats or streaming video for either match. Admission to both matches is free, and a limited amount of concessions will be available. Check back on Lipscombsports.com for more updates regarding both soccer teams and the lighting upgrade project.
