Women's soccer falls in final non-conference game

The Lady Bisons soccer team lost to Tennessee Tech 2-1 in Cookeville Sunday afternoon after being outshot 23-7.

Tennessee Tech (3-6-1) struck first with a goal by Ellie Iaciofano in the 17th minute but an unassisted goal by Lipscomb sophomore midfielder Alex Wagner tied the game thirty seconds into the second period.

In the 59th minute, Tech’s Andrea Meloff scored on a free kick giving the Golden Eagles the 2-1 lead and the eventual victory.

Lipscomb was only able to get two shots off in the second half and was outshot 14-2 in the final 45 minutes.

Freshman goalkeeper Allison Brown was credited with six saves for the Lady Bisons.many key athletes; as a result, only 13 players saw action against Tennessee Tech, with seven playing the full 90 minutes.

It was the third straight loss for the Lady Bisons (2-6-1) who open their Atlantic Sun Conference schedule next weekend with games at Mercer and Kennesaw State.
