Women’s soccer continues road swing

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Taking the short trip to Clarksville, Tenn. the Lipscomb women’s soccer team is set to battle Austin Peay on Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. match Morgan Brothers Soccer Field.  

The Lady Bisons (1-2-0, 0-0-0 ASUN) are coming off a 1-0 defeat from Central Arkansas on Friday, Aug. 24. The Bears scored an 11th minute goal to capture the otherwise even game. LU had 13 shots, with five on goal. Freshman Caroline Chadwell had six shots, placing three on goal.

Senior goalkeeper Erin Zerio made seven saves for the Purple and Gold, upping her career mark to 256 saves.

Chadwell leads the Lady Bisons in shot attempts with 11. Fellow freshman Emily Shuler is second on the team with five shots which is tied with sophomore Baylee Linnell.

Austin Peay enters Tuesday’s contest with a 2-1-0 record, coming off a 3-1 win over Appalachian State last Friday. The Lady Governors scored three second-half goals enroute to the victory.

Austin Peay was picked to finish eighth in the Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. Andy Quiceno and Emily Perkins lead the Lady Govenors with two goals each, on the young season.

The Lady Bisons will return home Friday, Aug. 31 for a 7 p.m. match against Chattanooga at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
