Final nonconference tune up at WKU awaits Lady Bisons soccer

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – In its final tune up before Atlantic Sun Conference action begins, the Lipscomb women’s soccer team travels to Western Kentucky for a 1 p.m. start Sunday.

The Lady Bisons, 3-3-2, ended a five-game homestand that saw the Lady Bisons go 2-2-1, including a 4-0 win over Belmont Monday.

Freshman Ellen Lundy and sophomore Molly Bray each notched two goals apiece in the victory over the former conference rivals.

Lundy leads the Lady Bisons with a school-record nine goals and 19 points. Both of those marks rank first in the A-Sun. Junior Baylee Linnell is second on the squad with 11 points having scored four goals and assisted on three.

Freshman goalkeeper Anna Buhigas leads the A-Sun with four shutouts and 43 saves.

Western Kentucky, 1-3-3, has won the last three meetings with the Lady Bisons. However, the last time the squads played was in 2004.

Lauren Moats leads the Lady Toppers with two goals scored while Iris Dunn leads the squad with 17 shots, placing seven on frame.

Following Sunday’s contest, the Lady Bisons begin the A-Sun slate Friday at Kennesaw State.
