Lail scores A-Sun Player of the Week honors

MACON, Ga. – After a busy weekend of competition for the Lipscomb women’s soccer team, junior Anna Lail was named the Atlantic Sun Player of the Week for her performance on the road this past weekend.

Logging a total of 147 minutes in weekend action, Lail picked up her first three goals of the season against Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast.

The Charlotte, North Carolina native scored the first two goals for the Lady Bisons Friday night against Stetson. The first strike was deflected off the keeper’s hands opening up the scoring opportunity. Less than 10 minutes later, the keeper cleared the ball right to Lail allowing her to make her second tally of the game.

Her third goal of the weekend came against FGCU Sunday afternoon after she successfully hit a 25-yard long shot over the goalie’s head.

Lail is the second Lady Bison to collect weekly A-Sun honors this season. Carolyn Springsteen has picked up Defensive Player of the Week twice.

The Lady Bisons return to action this weekend traveling to Spartanburg, South Carolina to take on USC Upstate at 5 p.m.
