FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Lipscomb women’s soccer team may not have left Fort Myers with the Atlantic Sun Championship, but two Lady Bisons were honored as members of the 2014 A-Sun Women’s Soccer Championship Team.
Junior Emily Shuler and sophomore Shelby Auterhoff were named to the A-Sun Championship Team for their performances in the semifinals Friday against No. 6 Kennesaw State.
Shuler, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, saw action in all 19 games for the Purple and Gold making 18 starts. She tallied two goals for Lipscomb with both being game-winners, one against Jacksonville and the other against Stetson. She collected two assists and took 13 shots putting eight on goal.
Auterhoff started in 16 of her 19 games played for the Lady Bisons this year. The Sarnia, Ontario native took 13 shots seeing seven on goal for a shots-on-goal percentage of .538.
The Purple and Gold capped off the season with a program best record of 10-7-2 and 4-2-1 in league play. The team broke the school records for most wins in a season (10), most shutouts in a season (11), and most shots in a season (262).
