Women's soccer announces 2015 recruiting class

Lipscomb head coach Kevin O’Brien has announced the Lady Bisons 2015 recruiting class. Committing to Lipscomb are eight talented soccer players that span from coast to coast.

“We are very excited to welcome this class to Lipscomb,” O’Brien said. “This is a very talented and ambitious group that will be able to make an immediate positive impact within all facets of our program.”

The Lady Bison women’s soccer had its most successful season in the program's history in 2014. The team compiled a program best 10 wins and a second place regular season finish. The Lady Bisons will be looking to build on that success in 2015.

“I’m really excited about this recruiting class on a couple different levels," O'Brien said. "First off, because these girls are exemplary young women with great character and a passion for all things Lipscomb. They have embraced our mission to have a highly competitive, God-glorifying soccer program that values missions, community service, and authentic relationships as highly as they do winning. It’s truly an honor to lead a group of players that has this unique perspective, yet is striving daily for excellence both in the classroom and on the soccer field.

“I’m also excited about these girls because of what they bring to our soccer team. Each girl is talented, and will compete to play early in their careers.  This class provides great depth and flexibility to our squad, and we’ll need that to be successful against the toughest schedule in the history of Lipscomb women’s soccer.”

Highlighting the 2015 fall schedule will be the University of Tennessee, Ohio State University, Mississippi State University, University of Cincinnati and the defending Atlantic Sun Champions Florida Gulf Coast.

“We’ll be challenged this year like never before, and having a deep squad is crucial in order for us to continue our momentum as a program," O'Brien said. "I’m happy to say that this team will be the most talented I’ve coached at Lipscomb.”

Maycie McKay                       5’6’                  F          Brentwood, TN          Club: TSC

McKay is a two-time club state champion with Tennessee Soccer Club and a 2 time all-state player at Brentwood Academy. She was the team captain and tallied 23 goals and 17 assists in her senior campaign.

“Maycie is a skillful lefty that will add pace and crossing accuracy to our team," O'Brien said. "She has the ability to play wide or as a central striker and her knack for scoring points (goals and assists) will be a welcome addition to our team.”

Elise Andrich              5’4”                 D          Fairfax, VA                  Club: McLean

Andrich is an ECNL Mid-Atlantic Player Development Program participant and an ODP National Development Camp invitee. She played ODP for Region 1 and played internationally (Germany) with that team. Her high School accolades include first team All-district and all-region honorable mention.

“Elise is a tough and aggressive player with good athleticism and technique," O'brien sadi. "She’s got the ability to play as an attacking fullback, left midfielder, or as a left sided central defender. Adding another talented lefty to the squad really increases our ability to play the way I want the team to play."

Dominique Diller       5’5”                 MF       San Diego, CA                        Club: Surf

Diller has played at the highest club level with her San Diego Surf team. Her team has been ranked in the top 5 of the ECNL the last 3 years. She has been a four-year varsity starter, earning most valuable offensive player, all-league team twice and league champions twice.

“Dom is a quick attacking player that is very good dribbling at defenders in transition," O'Brien said. "She can play as a right-winger or as a striker. Her tenacity and work ethic are strengths that we are excited about having in our program.”

Lindsay Brent             5’8”                 F          Virginia Beach, VA     Club: VA Rush

Brent played her club soccer with the VA Rush of the ECNL. She was an ECNL Mid-Atlantic Player Development Program participant and the team's leading scorer. Her high school accolades include all-conference and all-region honors.

“Lindsay is a strong and powerful striker," O'Brien said. "She has good technique in combination play and can play equally well with her back to goal or facing forward. She strikes the ball purely and powerfully, and I believe zhe will be a great addition to our goal scoring efforts.”

Callista Pascarella      5’8”                 D          Athens, TN                 Club: FC Alliance

Pasacrella is a member of the FC Alliance R3PL team that has been one of the best club teams in the state over the past two years. She was an all-district MVP and all-state selection for her high school, and was invited to play in the Tennessee All-Star game this past season.

“Callista is a physically strong, no nonsense defender," O'Brien said. "She’s athletically gifted with pace and power and loves to battle with opposing strikers. She never backs down from a challenge and will be an addition that makes our team tougher.”

“Brooke is a versatile player that can play as a central midfielder or as a wide player," O'Brien said. "She’s strong technically, and has a very good passing ability and a nice strike at goal. Her vision to find her teammates is a quality that we are excited to have joining our team.”

Arielle Hansford         5’5”                 F          Athens, TN                 Club: FC Alliance

She was an all-district selection four times and an all-region selection two times. She also spent her summer playing for the Chattanooga W-league team.

“Arielle is a player whose speed does not decrease when dribbling the ball," O'Brien said. "In the recruiting process I saw her playing as a fullback, winger, and as a forward. She was equally strong in each position. Her pace and work ethic will allow her to compete for several spots within the team, and we’re excited that we’ve signed a quality all-around soccer player.”

Justis Bailey                5’8”                 D          Clarksville, TN                        Club: TSC

Bailey plays club soccer for Tennessee Soccer Club, the 2014 State Champions. She also won a high school state championship with her Clarksville High school team. She was an all-district, all-region and all-state selection.

“Justis is a strong and athletic defender," O'Brien said. "She is a very talented 1-on-1 defender that has the pace to stay with the quickest strikers we face. Her ability to play centrally or as a fullback is exciting because she is equally strong in both positions.”
