Women's soccer earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

Kansas City, Mo. – The Lipscomb women’s soccer team were one of five female programs honored on Wednesday afternoon for its academic success in the 2014-15 season by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, North Florida and USC Upstate were also honored by the NSCAA, but the Lady Bisons had the highest team GPA among the A-Sun teams with a mark of 3.69, ahead of the Eagles (3.52), Dolphins (3.36), Ospreys (3.35) and Spartans (3.47).

A total of 859 teams were recognized by the NSCAA for having a GPA of 3.0 or higher, including 554 women’s teams. Lipscomb was one of only three schools in the conference and 208 in the country to have both its men’s and women’s programs recognized. North Florida and USC Upstate joined the Bisons in that distinction.

The Lady Bisons will be back on the field Saturday to open conference play at Kennesaw State at 6 p.m.
