Women's soccer earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

LakePoint, Ga. – The Lipscomb women’s soccer team has followed up last season’s excellent on-field campaign with an award for their classroom performance as the Lady Bisons earned a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Award for compiling a 3.69 GPA over the 2015-16 season.

The 3.69 GPA is the 12th best mark for a women's program in the nation and second in the entirety of Division I.

All seven ASUN programs were among the 893 men’s and women’s teams to receive honors, marking the second straight year that has happened. The Lady Bisons posted the highest GPA of any team in the ASUN on the men’s or women’s side.

The Purple and Gold posted a higher mark than Stetson (3.59), FGCU (3.46), and Jacksonville (3.46) out of the women’s ASUN squads that earned the award.

To qualify for the award, teams must have compiled a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year.

Lipscomb will be back in action on Saturday at 7 p.m. as USC Upstate visits Nashville.
