NASHVILLE – After several weeks of working hard in the weight room and on the pitch, the Lipscomb women’s soccer team will finally get a chance to take on competition that wears something other than the Purple and Gold.
“The spring season is great because it’s all about performance and not about outcomes,” Lipscomb women’s soccer head coach Kevin O’Brien said.
“As a coach, I can tinker with the system of play and personnel groupings without the fear of a loss hurting our RPI or chances of getting an at large bid to the NCAA’s. I absolutely love that.”
The Lady Bisons, who are coming off the most successful stretch in program history including consecutive ASUN Championship game appearances, will be taking on a strong slate of local opponents.
“It’s really nice to have so many strong soccer programs in the area,” O’Brien said. “We’ve got some very good local rivalry games that are sure to put our team under pressure.
“We’d like to invite all women’s soccer fans and future Bison recruits out to watch the team play as we prepare for the 2017 fall campaign.”
Admission to the women’s soccer spring games is free.
