Women's soccer set for ASUN home stand

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb (4-5-3) women’s soccer team will be taking on a pair of ASUN opponents at home over the weekend as North Florida (8-3) and Jacksonville (3-6) are both set to visit the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.

The Bisons will take on the Ospreys at 7 p.m. on Friday, followed by a 1 p.m. match against the Dolphins on Sunday.

You can follow along with live stats and live streaming at the links provided.

Scouting the Ospreys and the Dolphins:

  • UNF defeated NJIT 1-0 at home in their previous outing, while JU also defeated NJIT at home 2-0.
  • Freshman Thais Reiss leads the Ospreys with five goals and one assist for 11 total points.
  • Dolphins senior Joelle d’Entremont is the team leader with two goals, one assist, and five total points.
  • When UNF and Jacksonville met in the River City Rumble earlier this season, the Ospreys earned a 2-1 overtime win.

Quick Hits:

  • Lipscomb is coming off of a 1-1 draw on the road against Stetson. Redshirt-freshman Hope Van Ryckeghem scored the Bisons lone goal in the 66th
  • The Ospreys lead the all-time series 6-5-2, but the Bisons have won the last two matches. They are 4-11 versus JU, but have won the last three matches. Lipscomb defeated each program 2-1 on the road last season.

  • Freshman Riley Henry earned the ASUN Player of the Week award for her performance in the Auburn outing. The Indianapolis native notched both Bison goals giving Lipscomb a 2-0 lead just after halftime. She also led the team with three shots and two shots-on-goal.
  • Three Bisons landed on the ASUN Preseason All-Conference team, with senior Niamh Rawlins being named Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. She was joined by sophomores Olivia Doak and Leah Cernicky on the squad.
