LakePoint, Ga. - After a weekend that saw three goals in total, including two game-winners, and a climb to first place in the conference standings, Lipscomb senior Ellen Lundy has been named the ASUN Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the third time in her Bison career.
Lundy scored Lipscomb’s lone goal in a 1-0 victory over North Florida at home on Friday, and followed that up with a two-goal performance during a wild 4-3 win against Jacksonville at home on Saturday.
She notched the game-winner against the Ospreys in the 62nd minute and scored the golden goal against the Dolphins in the 107th minute.
After the prolific weekend, Lundy now has six goals on the season, good enough for first place on the team and tied for third-most in the ASUN.
The Arkansas native won her first two ASUN weekly awards during the fall of her freshman year, the last season in which she played solely at forward. Lundy’s versatility has allowed her to split time at forward and centerback over the last several seasons.
Lundy extended her program record for career goals to 32, which is 17 more than any other player in school history.
The award is Lipscomb's second of the season, and first since freshman Riley Henry took home the honor after her two-goal performance against Auburn in August.
The Bisons will be back on the field on Oct. 14 as they take on USC Upstate on the road at noon.
