NASHVILLE – The accolades are continuing to roll in for the Lipscomb’s women’s soccer team after another successful season as the Lady Bisons landed a pair of players on the United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-Southeast Region team for the first time in program history.
Seniors Ellen Lundy and Niamh Rawlins earned spots on the squad, with Lundy landing on the second team and Rawlins making the third team.
Lundy was named the ASUN Player of the Year, also a first in program history, for her exploits. She led the Bisons with eight goals this season, extending her program record to 34. Of her eight goals, seven came against conference foes and four were game-winners.
She also led the team in points (16), shots (44), and shots-on-goal (19) in what was a prolific season for the defender-turned-forward.
Rawlins followed up her 2016 ASUN Defensive Player of the Year campaign with another season as a steadying presence on the Bison backline.
The defender helped anchor a Lipscomb defense that forced five shutouts, including three against conference opponents. On offense, she took seven shots and notched an assist.
Rawlins and Lundy became just the second and third players in program history to make the ASUN All-Conference First Team three times, joining former goalkeeper Anna Buhigas on that select list.
Their efforts helped the Lady Bisons reach the ASUN Championship game for the third consecutive season and to earn the first ASUN regular season title in program history.
