Nashville – The Lipscomb women’s soccer team has announced its spring schedule, a five-game slate that includes two home and three away contests.
“I’m excited to see how we come together as a team this spring,” Lipscomb women’s soccer head coach Kevin O’Brien said. “There are opportunities galore open in the squad, including five starting positions that have been vacated by the graduating class”.
The Bisons begin spring play on Feb. 24 with an away match vs. MTSU at 2 p.m. Lipscomb then welcomes Belmont and Vanderbilt to the Lipscomb Soccer Complex on March 21 at 6 p.m. and March 28 at 7:30 p.m.
Following the only two home matches of the spring, the Bisons will finish their final two games on the road. On April 4, they will travel across town to take on Division II foe Trevecca at 7 p.m. The final spring competition date will feature two 60-minute matches at Murray State on April 14. Lipscomb will face UT Martin at 1:30 p.m., followed by a game against the Racers at 3 p.m.
The 2017 Lady Bisons won their first-ever regular season conference championship, but have had substantial turnover in the team for the first time ever.
“It’s the first year since I took the job that we’ve lost multiple impact players,” O’Brien said. “Losing a Player of the Year, a Defensive Player of the Year, and two First-Team All-Conference players will naturally create change in our program. I’m excited to see who steps up and seizes their opportunity.”
