Women's soccer weekend slate includes at WKU, home vs UTC

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb women’s soccer team is will be taking on a pair of matches over the weekend as the Lady Bisons travel to Western Kentucky and host Chattanooga.

Lipscomb will be taking on WKU on Friday at 6 p.m., followed by another 6 p.m. match on Sunday against UT-C.

Both matches will be available on live stats and live streaming at the links provided.

 

Scouting the Hilltoppers and Mocs:

  • Western Kentucky is 1-2-1 on the season so far, with a 4-1 win over Evansville on the road.
  • Ambere Barnett leads the Hilltoppers with three goals and one assist for seven points.
  • Chattanooga has gotten off to a 3-1 start to the season, with the lone loss coming at South Alabama.
  • Chloe Arnold has tallied five goals and one assist for 11 total points to lead the Mocs.

 

Herd Notes:

  • Lipscomb started off the season on a high note, taking down Battle of the Boulevard rival Belmont 6-1 on the road in the season opener before defeating Tennessee Tech 2-1 in the home opener.
  • Junior Olivia Doak won the first ASUN Player of the Week of the 2018 season, and the second of her career, for her stellar opening weekend performance. She notched two goals and one assists against Belmont and added another goal versus Tennessee Tech.
  • Sophomore Riley Henry also notched two goals in the Belmont win, while fellow sophomore Allie Dunn earned one goal and two assists over the weekend.
  • Lipscomb last played Chattanooga in 2015. The Lady Bisons won at home 3-0.
  • The Purple and Gold last took on Western Kentucky in 2014, which resulted in 2-0 Lipscomb loss at home.
  • The Lady Bisons landed three players on the ASUN Preseason All-Conference Team: senior Justis Bailey and juniors Olivia Doak and Maycie McKay.
  • The Purple and Gold were picked to finish second in the preseason coaches poll. They received 72 votes, slotting them behind the reigning ASUN Tournament champions FGCU who notched 80 votes.
