NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb women’s soccer team is set for a pair of high-profile matches this week as the Lady Bisons will be visiting Cincinnati and hosting Kentucky.

Lipscomb (4-2-2) will be taking on Cincinnati on Thursday at 6 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m. match on Sunday against Kentucky.

Both matches will be available on live stats and live streaming at the links provided.

Bearcats, Wildcats, and Bisons, Oh My!

  • Cincinnati is 3-3-1 on the season so far. The Bearcats took on a pair of ranked squads last week: a 0-0 tie vs No. 16 Kansas and a 3-1 loss at No. 10 Auburn.
  • Sydney Kilgore and Jill Vetere are tied for the team lead with four points each.
  • Kentucky has compiled a 4-4 record this year thus far, but is 0-3 against fellow Power Five schools.
  • Yuuka Kurosaki has notched four goals and one assist for a team-leading nine points.
  • The Lady Bisons are 0-1-1 in program history against the Bearcats and 0-2 against the Wildcats.

Herd Notes:

  • Lipscomb started off the season on a high note, taking down Battle of the Boulevard rival Belmont 6-1 on the road in the season opener before defeating Tennessee Tech 2-1 in the home opener.
  • Junior Olivia Doak won the first ASUN Player of the Week of the 2018 season, and the second of her career, for her stellar opening weekend performance. She notched two goals and one assists against Belmont and added another goal versus Tennessee Tech. She leads the team with three goals and four assists for 10 total points.
  • Sophomore Riley Henry notched two goals in wins over Belmont and Chattanooga. She now has three two-goal games for her career. Henry and Doak are tied for the team lead with eight points each.
  • Redshirt-junior Maycie McKay doled out three assists in the 3-0 win over Chattanooga, giving her a team-high four on the year.
  • Lipscomb plays three programs each from both the state of Ohio and Kentucky this season, including both of this week’s opponents.
  • The Lady Bisons landed three players on the ASUN Preseason All-Conference Team: senior Justis Bailey and juniors Olivia Doak and Maycie McKay.
  • The Purple and Gold were picked to finish second in the preseason coaches poll. They received 72 votes, slotting them behind the reigning ASUN Tournament champions FGCU who notched 80 votes.
