NASHVILLE - Senior Maycie McKay of the Lipscomb women's soccer team was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team on Thursday evening.

The 2019 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom and is split-up into eight districts among the United States and Canada. McKay and Lipscomb are apart of District 3, which covers North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

Honorees selected to their first-team Academic All-District will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, where honorees will be announced in early December.

This is the first time since 2011 (Kirsten Heikkinen and Danielle Bethke) that a member of the Bisons has been selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team.

The Brentwood, Tenn. native has had an outstanding senior campaign notching six goals, a team-leading seven assists and 19 points, as well as a First Team All-Conference selection.

She was also voted to the ASUN All-Academic Team with an impressive 4.0 GPA in Mathematics Teaching.

McKay and the rest of the women's soccer team will look to keep its season going and claim back-to-back conference titles, as the Bisons host Kennesaw State for the ASUN Championship tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
