Chris Klotz begins his third year with the Lady Bisons after joining Kevin O’Brien’s women’s soccer staff in June 2012. The Dana Point, California, native will assist in all aspects of the soccer program.
Klotz joins the Bisons with a wealth of playing experience. He played his college soccer at UC Irvine, where he was a three-year captain and two-time All-Big West selection. While earning a degree in Sociology and a minor in Education at UC Irvine, Klotz was a three-time scholar athlete and President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Following his collegiate career, Klotz played professional soccer for the Charlotte Eagles from 2006 to 2011. He helped the Eagles to three USL Second Division Final appearances during his tenure.
While in Charlotte, Klotz was responsible for the planning and scheduling of the soccer camps hosted by the Eagles, reaching over 1,000 athletes each summer.
Previous coaching experience includes head coach at Dana Hills High School from 2002-05, volunteer assistant at UC Irvine in 2006, assistant at Grace Academy in 2008-09, assistant at Covenant Day women’s soccer, and taking over head coaching duties in 2011-12 for Grace Academy.
Klotz assisted Coach Kevin O'Brien in making Lipscomb history during the 2013 season. The team made it to the Atlantic Sun Tournament for the first time in program history. They finished the year with an overall record of 6-8-5 and a conference record of 3-3-3, a program best.
