Inclement weather in the Atlanta area forced postponement of Saturday's Atlantic Sun tennis match between the Lipscomb Lady Bisons and Kennesaw State in Kennesaw, Ga.
Only two courts were available for the match due to heavy rains and bad weather Friday night. The match will be rescheduled.
Kennesaw State's Ayano Tanaka beat Lipscomb's Raphaela Jann 6-3 in the first set of their match. Tanaka was ahead 1-0 in the second set before the match was called due to weather conditions. Jann will be the server when the match resumes.
In the No. 2 singles match Lipscomb Kara Jackson opened by winning the first two games before losing the next five to Kennesaw State's Agatha Palider. Jackson prevailed in the eighth game to cut Palider's lead to 5-3. But Palider responded with a win to take the first set 6-3.
Heavy rain resulted in the initial delay. The match was set to resume after a three-hour delay, but the issuing of a tornado warning for the area ended competition for the day.
