UT Martin picked up an early 1-0 lead over the Lady Bisons when they won the doubles point 2-1.
Senior Julianne McMeen and sophomore Carlina Jow came off court first after losing to Winkhelmann and Laing 8-3 at the No. 3 doubles spot.
At No. 1, senior Kara Jackson and freshman Alyssa Bellini were defeated next by Tiley and Herbold 8-2.
The Lady Bisons lone doubles win came at the No. 2 spot when juniors Elizabeth Keevil and Danielle Hansen defeated Simiz and Vanzyl 8-4.
With a 1-0 deficit going into singles play, the Lady Bisons picked up wins at the No. 2, 4 and 6 singles spots.
Keevil played a solid match at No. 1 but came up short against Tiley, falling 6-4, 6-3.
Jackson picked up one of the Lady Bisons’ wins at No. 2, defeating Laing 7-6(4), 6-2. Hansen fell at the No. 3 spot after playing a tight first set, losing to Winkhelmann 7-5, 6-1.
At No. 4, Bellini secured a win over Herbold in a decisive 6-0, 6-2 victory. McMeen fell to Simic 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 5 spot, while junior Samantha Bowman picked up the Lady Bisons’ final win at No. 6, beating McCall 6-1, 6-2.
The Lady Bisons will face Alabama A&M on Saturday, Feb. 5 6:30 p.m. at Whitworth Country Club.
