MEMPHIS, TENN. - In their first matches of the new season, the Lipscomb women’s tennis team traveled to The Raquet Club of Memphis to take on the No. 58-ranked Memphis Tigers.
The Tigers were able to sweep the Lady Bisons 7-0 in a match-up that saw added experience for a growing tennis team (now 0-1).
Coach Andrew Harris said today’s matches helped illuminate what the team needed to focus on for the rest of the season.
“I think it was important that we just established an understanding on what we’re looking for from a match standpoint in terms of continuing to work on our game identity,” Harris said.
Harris said he hopes the team uses today’s experience to improve for the rest of their non-conference match-ups and conference play in March.
The team looks to rebound against MTSU at home on Jan. 25.
