The Lipscomb women's indoor track and field team had a solid weekend as they competed in the SEMO Invitational this past Friday at Southeast Missouri State.
The Lady Bisons posted 7 top-5 finishes in the meet.
Samantha Wood led the way with a first place finish in the 3000 meter run (10:52) followed by Candice Cox (2nd place), Susan Worden (3rd place), and Amanda Wright (5th place). Jill Dyer placed 2nd in the 800 meter run (2:26) while Brittany Miller placed 4th in the 400 meter dash (61.8). Elizabeth Schall and Ruth Mick place 4th and 5th in the mile respectively. Shannon Childs and Lisa Carter continued to improve setting season bests in the 200 meter dash, while Jessie Strange had her season best showing in the 55 meter hurdles.
A few of the Lady Bisons will compete this Saturday in the Sewanee Indoor Invitational. The outdoor season begins here at home on March 4th against Tennessee Tech, Belmont, and Austin Peay.
