The Lipscomb Lady Bisons tennis teams competed in the UTC Fall Tournament in Chattanooga this weekend.

Because of rain, the tournament was played indoors. Other schools participating were UT-Chattanooga, UT-Martin, Belmont, Austin Peay, Western Kentucky, Samford, UNC-Ashville, Jacksonville State University, Kennesw State, Alabama-Huntsville, Alabama-Birmingham, Murray State, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Mercer, and Louisiana-Monroe.

The Lady Bisons had a very competitive weekend. Olivia Ellis, Casey Hall, and Caitlin Khouri all advanced to the second round in singles.

The doubles teams of Emily Ellis & Olivia Ellis and Casey Hall & Caitlin Khouri won first round matches.

The Lady Bisons match record for the weekend was 5-9.

"I am very pleased with the teams' performance at this tournament," said Dr. Lynn Griffith, Lipscomb tennis coach. "I feel our teams are playing at a competitive level that surpasses what we have been able to do in the past.

"I attribute much of this to the improvement in practice structure. The addition of Andrew Harris and Cole Griffith as assistant coaches has made a substantial impact on our practice performance. "
