Monday, March 15, 2010 The Lady Bisons faced A-Sun opponent Jacksonville on Sunday morning and lost their fourth conference match 7-0.
The Lady Bisons struggled to find their groove in doubles play.
Elizabeth Keevil and Mackenzie Bishop came out on the losing end of the No. 1 doubles match. The duo fell to Soldatova and Jaresova 8-4.
Kara Jackson and Danielle Hansen lost at the No. 2 position to Castaring and Carrero 8-1.
At No. 3, Julianne McMeen and Carlina Jow were defeated by Spencer and Londono 8-3.
With zero wins in doubles play, the Lady Bisons began singles play down in the match 0-1.
Bishop lost at No. 1 to Soldatova 6-2, 6-1, while Keevil also fell 6-0, 6-1 to Castaring at the No. 2 spot.
Hansen played a tight first set but unfortunately lost some steam in the second. Hansen was defeated by Jaresova 7-5 6-3 at No. 3.
With four wins under their belts, Jacksonville clinched the match.
Jackson fell at the No. 4 spot after rallying back in the second set, losing 6-2, 7-6 (3) in a second set tiebreaker.
At No. 5, Jow came up short, falling to Iwinsky 6-0, 6-4.
McMeen had a close match at No. 6, losing in a third set tiebreaker. McMeen was barely defeated by Spencer 6-1, 6-7 (5), 11-9.
Women’s tennis hits the courts again against Florida A&M on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Lipscomb Tennis Center.
