Lady Bisons swept by Stetson
The Lady Bisons kicked off their spring break in Florida on a sour note with a 7-0 loss to Stetson on Thursday. With the loss, the Lady Bisons’ Atlantic Sun record dropped to 1-3.

Senior Kara Jackson and freshman Alyssa Bellini were defeated at the No. 1 doubles spot by Carolina de los Santos and Unnati Purushotham 8-2.

At the No. 2 spot, juniors Elizabeth Keevil and Danielle Hansen fell to MayaBlue Stauffer-MacDowell and Sierra Sullivan 8-2.

Finally, senior Julianne McMeen and sophomore Carlina Jow lost at No. 3 to Lindsey Cable and Shannon Gunning 8-3.

Already down 1-0 after losing the doubles point, the Lady Bisons found no better luck in singles, going on to lose all six matches.

Keevil was defeated by this weeks’ A-Sun Player of the Week, de los Santos, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, while Jackson fell to Purushotham 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2.

At No. 3 singles, Bellini fell Gunning 6-3, 6-0, and Hasen was defeated by Stauffer-MacDowell 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4.

Jow fell at No. 5 6-2, 6-2 to Sullivan, and at No. 6, McMeen was defeated by Aguirre 6-0, 6-0.

The Lady Bisons will remain in Florida and travel to Ft. Myers to face Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m.
