Women's tennis drops one to Chattanooga 7-0

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Lipscomb women’s tennis team left the Richland Country Club still searching for their first win of the season after losing to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga 7-0 Saturday.

The Mocs swept both the singles and doubles competition.

Lipcomb head coach Andrew Harris gave credit to the Mocs, led by head coach Jeff Clark, for their performance.

“Give UTC a lot of credit," Harris said. "Jeff had their girls prepared mentally and physically. We didn't respond the way we were looking to and ended up getting behind early."

Harris said he hopes that the team will learn from their previous matches and will carry those lessons into conference play.

“We have two weeks until the next match, and we need to continue to use every day as an opportunity to improve,” Harris said. “This is a great group of girls. We are in a learning process and will be better for it comes to conference play.”

The Mocs improve to 4-0, while the Lady Bisons drop to 0-4.

The women’s team is back in action Feb. 8 against Tennessee State from the Ohio Valley Conference.
