Women's tennis looks forward to home competitions

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb Lady Bisons  plan to ride the momentum of a win over Kennesaw State into this weekend’s Atlantic Sun matches.

The Lady Bisons, 7-5 overall, 1-1 in the conference, will face USC Upstate, 1-13, 0-2 in the A-Sun Friday at 1 p.m. at Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center. The men’s teams play at 9 a.m.

Saturday the Lady Bisons face ETSU at 2 p.m. The men play at 10 a.m.

“We are looking to continue to build on doubles,” Lady Bisons coach Jamie Aid said. “This is our first conference match at home and we are excited to compete.

“Our girls have a good amount of confidence after winning against KSU 5-2. We want to make sure we maintain our energy levels and fight as a team and not as individuals.”

The Lady Bisons started the season strong and have stressed the need to finish every play and every match.

Aid thinks the team’s mission trip to Rescue Atlanta this past weekend made a close team even closer.

“If we can continue to play for something bigger than ourselves, we will be successful,” Aid said. “This week our team really grew together on the mission trip."

“Our coaches and players have a great amount of trust in our team. We love each other and plan to fight hard.”
