NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Lipscomb women's tennis team will travel to Athens, Georgia this weekend to take part in the Bulldog Tennis Classic.
The singles tournament will be a 32-player draw while doubles will be a round robin.
Players from Georgia, East Carolina, Georgia Tech, Missouri and Wisconsin will join Lipscomb at the tournament.
Play will start Friday at 8 a.m. CST with the singles draw first round. The second round immediately follows.
The doubles round robin will start at 2 p.m.
Doubles will start the action on Saturday at 8 a.m. with singles quarterfinals beginning at 9:30 a.m. The final doubles matches will start at 7 a.m. on Sunday morning with the singles semi-finals starting at 8:30 a.m. The singles final is to start at 11 a.m., concluding the tournament.
The draw for the singles tournament will be released later on Thursday.
Lipscomb coach Jamie Aid will look for her team to continue to complete their game and gain confidence over the weekend against some stiff competition. She sees the tournament as valuable preparation for next week’s ITA Regionals.
