Women's tennis falls to nationally-ranked Memphis

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Lady Bison tennis team fell to No. 58 Memphis on Sunday night by a score of 7-0.

Memphis came out and gained early momentum as they won both the one and two seed doubles matches by a score of 6-1.

Memphis was able to carry that momentum over to singles play, as they won each of those.

In the top seeded match, Lady Bison Hannah Gamage battled against Anki Wind, but would eventually fall 6-1, 6-4.

In the number two match, Deahna Welcher faced Liza Tymchenko and fell 6-3, 6-2.

Jenny Borck played in the four spot and battled Kathryn Hughes, who won 6-3, 6-2.

The Lady Bison’s next match will come Friday as they travel to Clarksville to face Austin Peay. Play will begin at 1 p.m.
