NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Lipscomb women’s tennis team takes the court against Alabama-Huntsville Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Whitworth Country Club.
As has been the case already this season, the Lady Bisons had a match cancelled earlier this week due to weather but head coach Jamie Aid quickly was able to get UAH on the schedule so her team could get some match experience in.
Alabama-Huntsville enters the match with a 4-2 record. Aid expects her team to prepare like any other match and play like they know how.
“If we play our tennis, we should be perfectly fine,” Aid said. “We’ll get some solid points and solid games in.”
As the weather cleared up this week, the Lady Bisons were able to move practice outdoors but this match will take place indoors. Aid wants to see how her team responds from the switch from outdoors back to indoors.
“It’s a lot easier to go from outdoor to indoor,” Aid said. “But how do we respond to that change?”
Along with her team responding to change, Aid wants to see her team’s confidence continue to build as they near conference play.
“We’re looking for confidence,” Aid said. “Especially in doubles play. We know the doubles point is big in conference play.”
