Women's tennis set for two matches at home

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb Lady Bisons tennis team returns home this weekend to face Western Kentucky Friday night.

Match time is 7 at the Whitworth indoor tennis facility. The Lady Bisons are 1-1. Western Kentucky will be playing its first match in three weeks. They enter the match 0-2.

“I am excited to host our second home match of the season,” Lipscomb coach Jamie Aid said. “Our goal with our girls is to come out energized and play our tennis.

“Western Kentucky has a good team. This will be a good test to see where we are as a group. Our girls will have to come out with a competitive mindset from start to finish.”

Aid has been impressed with the desire of her players to get better each day. The theme this week was having everyone play with a high level of energy.

“We have had a great week of practice,” Aid said. “Our theme this week is to be intense with our focus so we can improve each day.

"This week in practice our goal was to practice with the energy we play matches with. If our girls can execute that, we will have a great weekend Friday and Sunday.”

Sunday at 7 the Lady Bisons will welcome Alabama-Huntsville to Whitworth.

“We are early in the season and we have a long season,” Aid said. "I am proud of this group of players and their desire to grow, their desire to work, their desire to be a team and their desire to do the hardest thing in sports: define a culture.”
