Women's tennis extends win streak to four matches

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb Lady Bisons tennis team extended its winning streak to four matches with a 5-2 win over Austin Peay Friday night at the Whitworth Indoor Tennis Center.

The Lady Bisons are 5-2. Austin Peay slips to 3-1.

“This was everything you expect from a rival match,” Lipscomb coach Jamie Aid said. “We saw Austin Peay in the fall and had an idea of how they were going to play.

“Austin Peay fought. They threw many items at our team to try to shake our girls. The team did a great job staying strong and completing a 5-2 win.”

The Lady Bisons won the doubles point. After losing the first two singles matches Laura Kent, Hanna Victorsson, Melissa Kromer and Danielle Kinnen all won their matches in straight sets.

“We have 9 players on our roster and all nine of our girls are so important,” Aid said. “They have all stepped up in leadership roles. I am very proud of the character our girls showed in tough situations against Austin Peay and how they came together.

“I look forward to working on some items we saw in this match during practices this week. We will go back to work Saturday and continue to be process minded.”
