Women's tennis set to host Chattanooga

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb women’s tennis team will be out to get back on the winning track Saturday night when Chattanooga visits.

The Lady Bisons are 1-3 on the season.  Chattanooga, which plays at Belmont Friday night, is 3-2 heading into the weekend.

The match with Lipscomb at the Whitworth Indoor Tennis Center will begin at 7.

The Lady Bisons are coming off a 1-1 weekend with a win over Belmont and a loss to Memphis. Freshman Denise Buberl, with two singles wins, was named ASUN Women’s Player of the Week, a personal first for her and a first this season for the Lady Bisons.

“We have had a great week of practice,” Lipscomb coach Jamie Aid said. “This season we have been fighting some minor injuries. I am so happy to see this group have a healthy week. “

Chattanooga lost 4-1 to Memphis this past weekend. They split the weekend with a 6-1 win over Kennesaw State.

“UTC has a very talented team this season,” Aid said. “This match will be very competitive.

“Our girls have adopted the mentality of being incredibly competitive in practice. Hopefully, that mindset and energy will pour over into Saturday night.”
