Dzyuba wins ASUN Tennis POTW

LakePoint, Ga. - Lipscomb's Viktoriya Dzyuba netted her first career ASUN Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week honor and second of the season for the Bisons.

Dzyuba led Lipscomb to its second victory of the season with a 4-3 victory at Appalachian State on Friday with a easy decision at No. 1 singles vs. App State's Heidi Swope (6-1, 6-1). Lipscomb claimed the doubles point by default.

Against Wofford, she earned the lone singles point with a 6-1, 6-1 victory vs. Caroline Martin, while adding a 6-0 doubles victory with partner Denise Buberl.

Lipscomb returns to the court on Friday, by hosting Arkansas State at 1 p.m. on the outdoor courts at the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center on campus.

Earlier this season Buberl won ASUN Conference Player of the Week.
