FORT MYERS, Fla.- For a record fifth season in a row the Lipscomb Lady Bisons are playing in the ASUN Conference Tennis Tournament.
The Lady Bisons will face off with the Stetson Hatters at 11 a.m. Friday. Stetson defeated Lipscomb three weeks ago at Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center 4-3.
Lipscomb coach Jamie Aid is ready to take on the Hatters with a full roster for the tournament. Madeleine Brooks will be returning to her No. 2 position for the Lady Bisons. With Brooks back, Aid made several changes to the lineup for both singles and doubles.
Hannah Gamage will be joining Vika Dzyuba as the No. 1 doubles team, and Denise Buberl will be joining Thabile Tshatedi as the No. 2 doubles team.
The Bisons will be playing a third doubles team for the first time in several matches. Brooks and Jaclyn Findlay will be the No. 3 doubles team.
“We have been working on our aggressiveness at the net in doubles this week, and the new pairings will help with that,” Aid said.
The singles lineup will also change. The third position will be filled by Hannah Gamage followed by Buberl at No. 4. The No. 5 and No. 6 positions will be filled by Tshatedi and Findlay.
The Lady Bisons have fought to the semifinals for the last four years. Aid hopes for the success to continue growing for her program as her girls begin their journey this weekend in Florida.
“I believe our full lineup will match up very well with Stetson,” Aid said. “Our girls are ready to play and I am confident in their game.”
