NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The Lipscomb women's tennis will look to continue its 2-match winning streak as Western Kentucky pays a visit to Nashville on Friday.
The Bisons are set to battle the Hilltoppers (1-2) at 7 p.m. at Whitworth Indoor Center. Admission is free for all spectators.
Lipscomb defeated rival Belmont and future ASUN conference foe North Alabama last weekend to improve its record to 3-5.
Freshman Kateryna Popova has burst onto the scene through Lipscomb's first eight matches, as the Ukrainian leads the team with a 5-2 singles record.
SCOUTING THE HILLTOPPERS:
Although Western Kentucky has only played three matches this spring, the Hilltoppers have shown their prowess in a narrow, 4-3 loss to Alabama on Jan. 20 and in a 4-1 victory over UTEP on Jan. 27. By comparison, Lipscomb lost to the Crimson Tide by a score of 6-0 on Jan. 21. Freshman Moka Ito leads Western Kentucky with a 2-0 singles record, after she went 9-4 in tour play last fall.
Lipscomb will head to Oxford to take on the No. 9-ranked Ole Miss Rebels on Friday, February 24. That match is set for a 1 p.m. start time.
