NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Thanks to forecasted rain, the Lipscomb and Florida Gulf Coast women's tennis teams are taking things indoors on Thursday.
The match was originally scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center, but the weather has forced the action to be moved to Ensworth High School at 12 p.m.
Lipscomb (7-9) is fresh off winning its conference opener in a 5-2 victory over Kennesaw State on Saturday. The win snapped a 2-match skid that included losses to South Alabama and Tennessee in mid-March.
Freshman Kateryna Popova has continued her impressive debut season and is now 10-3 in singles play. Sophomore Denise Buberl (7-7) and junior Viktoriya Dzyuba (6-6) have had their moments in singles, but the pair has excelled in doubles play in recent weeks with wins over Murray State, Arkansas State and Kennesaw State.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES:
FGCU owns an unblemished 11-0 record in the series history between the two schools. Last season, the Eagles took a 6-1 victory over the Bisons in Fort Myers. The Eagles (4-7) have struggled in the early going this spring, although their schedule included top-tier opponents like Tennessee, Miami, Minnesota, Notre Dame and Michigan State. Maja Ornberg leads FGCU with an 8-3 singles record, while the team of Laura Falceto Font and Julianna Curtis is 4-1 in doubles play.

The Bisons will take Easter weekend off from match play before resuming their schedule next Thursday, April 5 at North Florida. That match is slated to begin at 5 p.m. in Jacksonville.
