ITA Regionals on tap for women's tennis

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Lipscomb women’s tennis team is back in action this week as they head to Chattanooga for the ITA Ohio Valley Regional. The tournament begins 9:30 a.m.Thursday on the campus of UT Chattanooga. 

The Mocs will host nearly 200 student-athletes and 22 teams in the Scenic City.

Singles action features a 128-player main draw and a 64-player individual B Flight. Doubles play will consist of 64 teams in the main draw and 32 in the B Flight.

Head coach Jamie Aid will field her full roster of nine in the five-day event after earning a program record for spots in the main draw.  

Competing in the singles main draw for the Lady Bisons will be seniors Vika Dzyuba and Madeleine Brooks, junior Denise Buberl and sophomore Kate Popova.

Senior Thabile Tshatedi will be alongside freshmen Maddox Bandy, Eleanor Chapman and Liza Diachenko in the singles B Flight.

Dzyuba-Popova and Brooks-Buberl will team up in the doubles main draw, while Tshatedi-Bandy and Diachenko-Kate Kandyba will take part in the doubles B flight.

Joining the Lady Bisons and Mocs in the field will be Austin Peay, Ball State, Belmont, Butler, Cincinnati, ETSU, Indiana, IUPUI, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, Miami (Ohio), Middle Tennessee, Northern Kentucky, Purdue, Tennessee, UT Martin, Vanderbilt, Wright State and Xavier.
